In a move reminiscent of Chalmun’s Cantina from the non-canonical Star Wars Holiday Special, and the cantina in A New Hope, the bar is modeled after the original set used for the show. The Star Bar also has a replica of the famous Enterprise-D’s Ten Forward, where passengers on the USS Enterprise spent much of their time relaxing and socializing.

In an attempt to keep his business open, Rom decides to follow Julian Bashir’s advice and form a union for his employees.
